Dear Readers,

It’s been one year now since I relaunched my Patreon and opened up a Substack to go along with it. I wish I had more to say to celebrate that milestone, but the truth is that it’s almost ten o’clock and I need to get to bed.

ecc's books is a reader-supported publication. To receive new posts and support my work, consider becoming a free or paid subscriber.

The past week has been a whirlwind. After the kidney stones finally scraped their way out of my urinary tract, it was time for my older daughter’s high school graduation. After that, it was time for the party to celebrate said graduation. And after that, on Monday, I started a new full-time job.

All of these were happy occasions, even if the final battle with the kidney stones felt a bit like pissing shards of glass, but this flurry of activity left me with very little time to finish the final four pages of Blood of Seven Queens #1. In fact, I was feeling so glum about it yesterday that I… well, I was saying and thinking a lot of catastrophic stuff and being very mean to myself in the process.

Luckily, today was a better day and I did indeed finish off the pages. Next week, I’ll be back to share the cover with everyone, along with news on a release date. But in the meantime, I’m going to skedaddle and get some sleep. I’ve got the new job waiting me in the morning and I want to be well-rested for day 3.

Paid subscribers, keep on scrolling for your look at the new pages. Everyone else, I’ll see you back here next Tuesday!

Yours,
Chris
