Dear Readers,
The heat here has been so extreme and so constant that I haven’t even been able to turn on the computer where I sculpt the scenes for The Blood of Seven Queens. That’s really frustrating, given that I’m trying to maintain a steady pace so that I can release four issues a year (one per quarter), but I’m trying to live with it.
One bit of happy news is that the proof copy of Blood of Seven Queens #1 arrived over the weekend, it looks great, and I’ve ordered the initial print run. Snag yourself a copy now to make sure you get one by the end of July or the very beginning of August.
In other news, I continue to have fun with World Anvil’s annual Summer Camp event. Here’s a high-level overview of the backstories I’ve been cooking up over the past week:
The Beast, which is my take on the Beauty & the Beast fairytale
A little bit about what Pixies are in my world that is sadly missing a reference to a Pixies song
A fantasy take on the Boston Massacre called The Fight for the Field of Plenty
A little something about a magical Gingerbread House and the candy-themed pocket dimension/amusement park inside
Dab Ea, a safe haven for shapeshifters in The Highlands of Eden
A bit about the magic and technology behind Stone Skin
Mermaid’s Lagoon, an article which touches on the stories of The Little Mermaid, Sleeping Beauty, and Peter Pan
An article about the various styles of houses you can find in my world
A quickie I dashed off about the bodyguards for the kings and queens of my world’s various nations
And that’s all for now. More next week!
Yours,
Chris
