Dear Readers,
The first copies of Blood of Seven Queens #1 shipped out to customers today and I can’t wait to hear what folks think of it. I’m so happy that my friends and family encouraged me to push forward with this project while I was unemployed. To have this out in the world now is such a thrill, and it means that I’ve now met my one big creative goal for the year: put out an issue of the comic. Everything after this is gravy!
If you haven’t already ordered one, you can buy a signed copy from my Ko-fi shop.
In other news, I’m hard at work on issue 2 and hope to have that out in the world before year’s end. October is the goal, but I am running behind at the moment. If I don’t run out of steam tonight writing this newsletter and catching up on Worldbuilding Summer Camp, then I might be able to catch up on the pages I was supposed to do last week for issue 2. We’ll see.
But speaking of Summer Camp, here’s a host of new stuff I’ve been cooking up to help me tell even more stories in the world of Seven Queens. Enjoy!
Thakhë ës Mora, a pin/necklace worn by the dwarves as a symbol of their faith
A bit about the various places Edenians go on vacation
The truth about the crocodile people
A little something about superhero celebrity culture
An article about the titular Seven Queens, who they are, and what they do when they occasionally team up
Something about an apocalyptic cult springing out of a much larger and more well-established religion
A maritime twist on the legend of Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse called “The One About the Four Helmsmen”
The story of an asshole Father Earth figure
The six commandments of the sea, kinda-sorta
I’m one off the pace I set last week, but I’ll probably do that one next—after I send this off to you fine folks. At any rate, I hope you’re doing well in your neck of the woods and I hope you’ll consider picking up a copy of The Blood of Seven Queens #1 to support your good pal Chris.
That’s me. I’m Chris, in case you forgot.
Yours,
Chris
Congrats on your book's release 🎉
