Dear Readers,
I’m writing the first draft of this longhand, because I don’t have my laptop handy. I’m sure I will regret this later when I have to re-type it, but I’ve already started and it’s too late to turn back now.
The big news is that Blood of Seven Queens #1 is off to the printers and a proof copy should be winging its way to me in the next week. Barring any unforeseen screw-ups, by mid-July I’ll be shipping out copies to anyone who has pre-ordered. So, if you haven’t ordered your copy yet, why not buy BSQ #1 right now?
In other news, progress on issue two has been slow for a variety of reasons—chronic back pain being one of them. In the meantime, I’ve been investigating other comics folks on Patreon and Substack to see how they’re promoting their work and what perks they’re offering both their free and paid members. I don’t know yet how this will impact the way I release and tease art from BSQ #2 yet, but I suspect some adjustments will be made.
And speaking of adjustments, I’m making a change to the comic’s release schedule. While I’d originally hoped to put out a new issue every two months, I’ve decided that’s just not realistic with my new job and with the seemingly endless cycle of physical and mental health struggles I’ve been dealing with. Soooo… I’m going to go with a quarterly release schedule instead—one issue every three months instead of every two. That feels a lot more doable.
Plus: at least this way I avoid the question of whether bimonthly means twice a month or once every two months.
Yours,
Chris
sending prayers, love, and healing hugs. it can be really tough, trying to find a balance between paid and free. Congrats on the launch and the new job but I know things are still quite hectic! I hope you feel better soon. <3
....I thought bi-monthly was when June liked May AND July, not just one or the other.
